Goodyear South Africa received the First Place Platinum Award in the large organisation with a high environmental impact category at the Eastern Cape Top Green Organisation Awards which was held in East London on 17 November 2016, by the Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism.
The awards consider environmental management practices and projects when selecting recipients and Goodyear SA was acknowledged for its efforts in maintaining its zero waste to landfill status since 2008. Entrants are also congratulated for finding novel ways in reducing their carbon footprint and for spreading responsible resource management awareness to their surrounding communities.
