Last month, Semenya lost her case against the IAAF, with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) ruling in favour of the IAAF's rules which the court found discriminatory, but said were also “necessary, reasonable and proportionate”.
Following this loss, Semenya and her lawyer, Gregg Nott, appealed the ruling in the Swiss Court, citing the need to defend "fundamental human rights".
“The [Swiss] court has ordered the IAAF to suspend immediately the implementation of the regulation with regard to Caster and has given the IAAF until 25 June to respond to the suspense of effect,” said Nott, after yesterday's successful appeal.
