Junior miners need to enhance the effectiveness of their exploration initiatives and extraction processes, while managing the challenges around investment, labour, legislation, infrastructure and nationalisation. The path is treacherous, but junior miners can navigate their way to success.
Engage with like-minded individuals on how to convert risks into growth within the southern African mining sector at the 2nd Annual Junior Mining and Exploration Conference 2013.
The mandate of this event is to promote investment, development, growth and sustainability. Building on the success of the inaugural event in 2012, the 2013 conference creates a platform for discussion of the latest opportunities and success strategies for junior to mid-tier mining companies within southern Africa.
The programme has been developed in close consultation with the primary market and the result is a three-day event which tackles the real issues keeping junior miners awake at night. This comprehensive event covers everything from exploration to production, and addressed key challenges relating to:
- The global landscape
- Labour relation
- Investment
- Legislation
- Project management
- Environmental issues
- Sustainability
A highlight on the local calendar, this is the only junior mining summit of its kind in South Africa. Junior miners will gain insight into uncovering investment opportunities and successful strategies. There will also be advice around capital raising for mining projects.
A significant part of the conference is dedicated to a discussion about the regulatory environment. Given mining's long horizons and enormous upfront costs, the industry is particularly sensitive to resource nationalism or anything that smacks of resource nationalism. The conference will also cover aligning government, labour and industry sector initiatives and creating a harmonious labour market.
