Vessel tender bidders under cloud

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has short-listed two companies bidding for the multimillion-rand contract to crew and maintain South Africa's fleet of fishing patrol and survey vessels, despite their facing separate investigations by state institutions.

The department has confirmed that the other four bidders are P&O Maritime, South African Vessel Management Services, Tswelopele Ship Management Consortium and Nautica SA.
