New Garden Route centre offers an alternative shopping option

Even while contending with issues such as digital versus real world retail and increasing competition from the entry of international players, South African retailers are encouragingly showing positive growth.
New Garden Route centre offers an alternative shopping option

In light of this positive growth, a second shopping centre will shortly open its doors in the regional Garden Route retail precinct on Knysna Road in George. From 29 October 2015, Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre will offer consumers on the Garden Route an alternative shopping option.

According to André Bauermeister of Newton Commercial Properties, the centre will offer a range of shops that are not currently represented in the nearby Garden Route Mall and the two centres will complement each other and jointly strengthen the area's retail offering.

Variety of tenants

Eden Meander is a 30,000m² shopping centre that will focus on sports, interior design, home-ware, hardware and entertainment. With anchor tenants such as Checkers Hyper, Sportsmans Warehouse, Builders Warehouse, Golden Harvest, House & Home, The ProShop, Computer Mania, Mambo's Plastics and Pick 'n Pay Clothing, shoppers will find everything they need and more.

Restaurants such as John Dory's and Cattle Baron, together with local coffee shops, ample parking with covered walkways, six ATM stations, a play area for kids and a car wash will further add to the attraction for shoppers.

Bauermeister added that Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre was specifically designed with an eye on the future developments that will form part of this popular retail shopping node. A limited number of retail spaces are still available, with a specific need for retailers specialising in shoes, fashion boutique, pets, travel and textile/fabric.
