Christmas in July raises R18 815 for charity
Imagine a world where you not only care, you create; a world where charity makes a difference...where Christmas happens more than once a year...
Shoppers imagined exactly that at Woodmead Retail Park from 9 July to 6 August by showing their support for the 'Christmas in July' campaign; where the centre along, with its stores and shoppers, collected necessities for over 300 children across Gauteng.
During this period, Woodmead Retail Park aligned with Magical Moments and selected suitable beneficiaries within the surrounding area to benefit from the donations received. Throughout the campaign it was a core objective for the centre to raise awareness of and encourage support for these Beneficiaries.
The drive was received positively by shoppers resulting in donations of items to the value of R18 815; including Christmas Décor, non-perishable food, clothes, carpeting, and kids toys. Monica Brits and Angela Pereira; centre manager and marketing manager of Woodmead Retail Park respectively handed over the donations to Ilana Friedman, Fairy Godmother & Chief Operating Fairy of Magical Moments along with 7 fairies and Angie Duba founder of Lulamani on 21 August 2012.
The Woodmead Retail Park Team will be visiting Lulamani and Ebuleni within the next two weeks to meet and greet the children. "Magical Moments and Angie were extremely grateful for the support from the centre and we look forward to visiting the children," said Monica Brits. Because every time we give... it's Christmas.
