Software company gives back to the community

idu Software, a Cape Town-based budgeting and forecasting software company have initiated a country-wide appeal in aid of two impoverished township crèches. The IMINATHI-Educare in Khayelitsha and Joe Slovo crèches near Cape Town both operate out of containers, respectively providing care to 40 and 25 children up to the age of 5 years old. The crèches were in desperate need of basic supplies such as crockery, cutlery, tables, chairs, mattresses and safety equipment.

What started as a worthy way for idu Software employees to spend their 67 minutes on Mandela Day turned into a two-week charity drive to meet the needs of the crèches, as staff and their friends and family members joined in to contribute to the cause. Kenilworth Plastic Warehouse joined in their efforts and supplied 30 chairs, 40 soup bowls and 7 large plastic tables.

Rochelle Reid, marketing manager for idu Software said she is grateful for the support they have received during the initiative. "We are extremely excited about this project and that we were able to assist these worthy causes."
