"We are pleased to have been selected as a member of such a prestigious forum and we look forward to continuing our joint role in the development of our local and regional economies," says David Lancaster, senior partner at Webber Wentzel.

"When choosing entrants to our community of Global Growth Companies (GGC), we assess companies on their business model, annual revenues and growth rates, executive leadership and market position. Webber Wentzel is a dynamic group with clear potential to shape the future in its relevant business sectors and so is a perfect fit to our GGC community," says David Aikman, managing director and head of new champions at the World Economic Forum.

Potential leaders

GGC are considered to be the most dynamic, high-growth companies from around the world. Currently the community includes more than 360 members from 70 countries, each with the potential to become a leader in the global economy owing to their business models, growth records, leadership and the markets they serve.

Every year, new members of the community are selected by an independent committee composed of regional business experts and media leaders. According to the selection committee, the pool of candidates was exceptionally strong and diverse this year. Selection criteria used to assess Webber Wentzel included growth, global corporate citizenship, executive leadership and the firm's impact on the competitive landscape of its region or special industry.
