Street vendor charged with attempted murder

A street vendor who sold dodgy food to passers-by is to be charged with attempted murder after 50 people fell ill after eating food sold by a vendor in Rustenburg according to The Sowetan.

It quotes Police Constable Provia Tseke as saying that so far no arrests have been made but police are busy investigating the matter. At least 50 people were admitted with suspected food poisoning to two Rustenburg hospitals on Saturday, 10 September 2011, after buying the food at a taxi rank.
