Defence announces new appointments

PRETORIA: Defence and military veterans minister Lindiwe Sisulu has announced the appointment of senior officials in her department.

According to the department, the appointments, which are effective from 1 October, include:

Lieutenant General D.M. Mgwebi appointed as Chief of Joint Operations
Major General V.R. Masondo appointed as Chief of the SA Army, with promotion to the substantive rank of Lieutenant General
Lieutenant General C. Gagiano appointed as Chief of the SA Air Force
Vice Admiral J. Mudimu appointed as Chief of the SA Navy
Lieutenant General V.I. Ramlakan appointed as the Surgeon General of the SA Military Health Service

Chief of South African National Defence Force (SANDF), General Solly Shoke, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the officers on their new appointments.
