Wholesale trade sales up 7.5% y/y

Measured in real terms (constant 2012 prices)‚ wholesale trade sales increased by 7.5% year-on-year in June 2013‚ data released on Thursday (15 August) by Statistics South Africa showed.

Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 0.2% in June 2013 compared with May this year. This followed month-on-month changes of 2.8% in May.

Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 1.6% in the second quarter of the year compared with the first quarter.

This was the first statistical release presenting seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales using the X-12-ARIMA seasonal adjustment programme.
