M&A deals drop to R34-billion

The value of mergers and acquisitions in South Africa dropped to R34-billion in the second quarter of the year and these figures are just under 50% of those recorded for the same period last year when the figure was R70-billion, reports IOL.

Mergers and acquisitions for the first six months of the year reached R139-billion, which was significantly better than last year's figure of R113-billion and the improvement has been attributed to a strong performance of mergers and acquisitions in the first quarter of this year.
