Tedcor launches Community Contractor of the Year Awards
Lebogang Ramoroa is one of Tedcor's greatest success stories, walking away with the accolade for the third time in as many years. Ramoroa, a local resident, has been lauded for his considerable leadership skills and prudent financial management. These outstanding qualities are bolstered by his excellent communication skills.
With the aid and backing of Tedcor, Ramoroa and his team have successfully provided a professional domestic waste collection service that covers the Royal Bafokeng area.
Lazarus Molahlehi, the operational supervisor of Tedcor who is in daily contact with Ramoroa said: "He is really dedicated and committed to providing a good service and loves his work. Every single time we carry out an inspection, his area is always spotless.
"His attention to detail ensures that on collection days everyone's refuse is removed and recycled quickly and efficiently. His duties span a multitude of activities that include door-to-door collection services, removal of illegal dumping, street cleaning and picking up litter."
Tedcor has assisted Ramoroa by providing access to finance for a vehicle and mentoring him in business skills.
Access to finance for a vehicle
Ramoroa currently services 6334 households and employs 14 people from the local community.
Tedcor's group executive director, Victor Nemukula, said: "Tedcor's unique business model provides employment for communities and trains local residents to become business operators.
"This approach encourages community participation while building a cleaner, healthier environment and also enables local authorities to achieve service delivery goals while supporting the development of small business ventures (SMMEs) and the economic empowerment of the communities they serve."
