Jurgens introduces re-designed Safari Xplorer

Jurgens Caravans has introduced a re-designed model of their popular Safari Xplorer with every new feature adding to the sleek appearance as well as overall comfort, convenience and durability.

"In re-designing the Xplorer we took into account how much sleeker both models would be if a little longer," says Nico Pretorius, marketing manager of Jurgens Ci. "The extra space helped us make some important inside changes. For instance, the Xplorer now has a four-seater dinette and two adult single beds with increased box storage space between them, which convert to a king size double bed. In the Xplorer Xcell, the adult size double bed converts to a four-seater dinette. The numerous other changes have come about because we've listened to comments from our caravanners and adjustments were made to make exploring ever more comfortable."

Improved suspension

Some of these modifications include a clip-on bathroom basin, a pull-out shower head and new towel rails and hooks, a dust filter on the roof's pressure hatch, and a free-standing, outside fold-away table. In the front dome and hatch area, the two-sleeper fold-out bed comes with an insect-screened surround as well as a rain sheet. Also new is the added storage space provided by a top locker.

On the mechanical side, the larger suspension rubbers on the 1 800kg heavy-duty axle make a marked improvement to the suspension absorption. There are also hot-dipped, galvanised front skid bars, a heavy-duty jockey wheel with removable bracket clamp, a cargo tie-down rail on the A-frame and a lockable spare wheel bracket with removable studs. Another innovation includes the fibreglass wheel arches and rubbing strips which are stone-chip resistant. The fibreglass entry step has a stone guard checker plate which offers protection against dust. Access to the gas storage box is now much easier thanks to the outside mounted parking jacks with separate crank handles.
