Durbanite wins Mr South Africa 2009 Pageant!

29 year-old Entrepreneur Stephen Segal from Durban beat out 14 other finalists to be crowned as Mr South Africa 2009 at a glittering function at Carnival City in Johannesburg last night (Saturday 14 March). Fifteen of South Africa's sexiest and well-rounded men competed for four days in a variety of categories before putting their best foot forward in the Big Top.

1st Runner-up Jaco de Bruyn (25) from Kempton Park, Mr SA 2009 Stephen Segal (29) from Durban, and 2nd Runner-Up Ruben Engel (26) from Cape Town.

Singer Sean Else and kykNET's Elouise hosted the dramatic pageant, which saw the finalists strutting their stuff in everything from beach to formal evening wear, as they competed for the title of SA's official male icon.

Segal scooped the title ahead of 25 year-old Kempton Park Real Estate specialist Jaco de Bruyn and 26 year-old filmmaker/model Ruben Engel from Cape Town.

Previous winners include Paul Phume, Michael Mol and Dieter Voigt.
