Catching a touch of Lights, Camera, Action! with MCQP
Ok enough complaining; focus. Right, Lights, Camera, Action! As usual MCQP pulled off a crazy fantastic party that satisfied any exhibitionist leanings. Always fancied yourself as a bit of a celebrity in waiting, practicing those faces you would pull for the paparazzi? Well MCQP allowed us all to realize those desires. Decked out with a red carpet, cameras and photographers galore and the Showbiz Report's Nicky Greenwall conducting interviews with the arrivals that were broadcast on a giant screen, one couldn't help but feel a bit shlebby.
Feeling slightly under dressed as Harajuku girls we found ourselves surrounded by The Addams Family and many Clockwork Orange boys as we waited on the red carpet. And that is really the best thing about MCQP and what makes it such a special party. People really go all out in coming up with creative costumes that capture the theme. From Sponge Bob Square Pants in some dangerous looking heels (that he ran around in rather impressively) to play boy bunny boys to gayshei girls to a very brave Borat impersonator decked up in that lumo green g-string mankini they all strutted out to party hot and heavy in Harrington Street.
The entertainment on offer was as diverse as the costumes, with many different bars, DJ's and dance areas from disco to house dotted around as well as a main stage with performers like Melanie Lowe and CODA.
Yes a fab party indeed besides the pickpockets… no wait inner peace, inner peace.
