CYHSY came together in 2004 and released their eponymous debut album in 2005, which included hits such as The Skin Of My Yellow Country Teeth, Over And Over Again (Lost And Found) and Upon This Tidal Wave Of Young Blood.
They managed to get onto an endless list of popular blogs and received a positive review from Pitchfork Media who featured them in their "Best New Music" list. The band gained further recognition when industry heavyweights, David Bowie and David Byrne were identified as fans.
"Hysterical" is the band's third album and widens the band's idiosyncratic formula, incorporating a tidal wave of sound, all multi-layered keyboard tracks and big, booming drums. Imbued with sweeping synthesizers, juddering bass, and all manner of percussive dynamics, songs like Same Mistake, Misunderstood, and the elongated piano-pumping Adam's Plane are marked by inventive and boldly articulated arrangements.
