There will be 16 performances at three venues: Nikki's Oasis, Sophiatown and Shikioha - and entrance is free.
Performing on Friday, August 26 at Nikki's Oasis from 7.30pm is New Afroteens, D Tonic Momentum and Colours of Africa. Taiwa Jazz Band kicks off the action at Sophiatown at 7pm followed by Minor Band and Medumo Art Ensemble. Shikioha features Live Rhythms at 9.30pm followed by African Giants.
The line-up on Saturday, 27 August is: Nikki's Oasis at 7.30pm Bow and Arrow, followed by Take Note and the Tingvall Trio. New Afroteens at Sophiatown at 7pm is followed by Solace and Up Beat. Juxtaposed Virtue starts at 9.30pm at Shikioha followed by Quiet Storm.
The Tingvall Trio will be performing at the Bassline on Friday, 26 August as part of the mainstream Standard Bank Joy of Jazz programme. However, the band that was awarded the Echo Jazz Award as Germany's Best Domestic Jazz Ensemble last year will be giving a free performance on the Saturday. The trio comprises Martin Tingvall (Sweden) on piano, Omar Rodriguez Calvo (Cuba) on double bass and Jurgen Spiegel (Germany) on drums.
