Ackermans Open Dance Regional Championship Series

The Ackermans Open Dance Regional Championship Series, in association with the South African Dance Foundation, will be held in Joburg, Durban and Cape Town from 24 April, 2010, giving dance enthusiasts the chance to shine in a variety of disciplines.

The Ackermans Open Dance Regional Championship Series will be presented in an identical format in all regions covering genres such as ballroom and Latin American dance, which includes rumba, cha-cha, foxtrot, waltz and the quick step. Hip hop will also feature in the competition categories.

Dance Sport is an art that allows self-expression, whilst promoting discipline and the commitment to strive for excellence.

The passion to be the best

The Ackermans Shine Award is aimed at rewarding the dancer that presents the most potential. The winner of this accolade may not necessarily be the best dancer, but rather the individual that exemplifies the enthusiasm, ingenuity, artistry and the passion to be the best.

The Ackermans Open Dance Regional Championship Series will take place on:

Saturday, 24 April: Emperors Palace, Johannesburg

Friday, 28 May: Sibaya Casino, Durban

Saturday, 7 August: Grand West Casino, Cape Town

Doors open at 3pm starting with hip hop kicking at 4pm. Tickets are available at the venue on the day of each regional event as well as through SADF, with ticket prices of children under 12, free;
students and pensioners, R30; adults, R50.
