Seven Pounds of Will Smith

Seven Pounds is a long-winded, elaborate story of imploding guilt and regret. Will Smith plays the antagonist Ben Thomson trying to find ways to ease his own emotional suffering after indirectly causing the deaths of seven people in a road accident, including his wife. Ben then seeks out people who he donates body parts to on condition however that they are good and wholesome.

Will Smith plays his role excellently as usual and proves to audiences and critics alike that his talent is beyond the restrictions of a box. He can be arrogant superhero, Hancock; loving, hardworking father - Pursuit of Happiness; as well as guilt-stricken astronaut in Seven Pounds. I couldn't imagine Will Smith though playing a sinister bad guy - perhaps it's because he's so goodlooking…But enough drooling…

Seven Pounds is a drama that all can enjoy and will pull on your heart strings perhaps even succeed in jerking a tear or two. And if you're thinking of getting a Great Dane, this species only has an average life span of seven years due to a heart condition. A good movie always teaches you something new and Seven Pounds is exactly that.
