A great musical line-up has been planned for the V&A Waterfront's popular free Summer Sunset Concerts at the Amphitheatre this weekend.

On Saturday, 25 January locals can witness the debut of South Africa's newly discovered talent, Filipa Carmo da Silva, when she performs her first live concert at the V&A Waterfront's Amphitheatre on Saturday at 5:10pm. Filipa is currently the front runner in American radio and television personality Ryan Seacrest's international contest to find the best cover of One Direction's Story of My Life.

Capetonians can support the talented young matriculant by attending her free show and by voting for her online at www.ryanseacrest.com/contests.

Filipa will be followed by Andy Lund and the Mission Men at 5:30 until 6:15pm. The band launched their second album, Faster We Run, in 2013 and it was voted onto Rolling Stone's Top Albums of 2013 list. This alternative band is known for delivering classic, simple, good music with Andy Lund being dubbed as one of South Africa's best songwriters.

Farryl Purkis, one of South Africa's most successful talents, will bring the evening to a close from 6:30pm until 7:15pm. This highly acclaimed artist has enjoyed much success both on the charts and with award nominations. Farryl has toured the globe opening for international heavy weights such as Crowded House, Finlay Quaye, The Violent Femmes and Missy Higgins. Farryl has recently completed his third album titled, Home.

On Sunday, 26 January the Amphitheatre will host ever popular local band Macstanley between 6pm and 7pm. Comprising of band members Andrew Mac, Neil Potgieter and Clinton Gahwiler, the melodic rock group has already released 3 successful albums with numerous number 1 and top 10 radio hits. After an extensive overseas tour, they returned to South Africa last year to release their third and well acclaimed album 'Album "Lucid, Alive and Dreaming'.
