French duo return to play sonatas at the Baxter

Cellist Jérôme Pernoo and pianist Jérôme Ducros make a return to the Cape Town Concert Series stage at the Baxter Concert Hall on Saturday, 16 November. They will play sonatas by Bach for Viola da Gamba and for cello by Beethoven and Ducros.

Pernoo, a major prize winner of several international competitions, such as the Rostropovich Competition in Paris and the Unisa International Strings Competition, has played in major concert halls like the Wigmore and Théâtre du Chatélet in Paris. He is known as a champion of new works and has had many works dedicated to him. He teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris.

Ducros, also born in France, has also won several top French prizes and has played in prestigious venues from Paris to Tokyo through London, Berlin, New York.
