With the support of insurance giant AIG, 18 former Springboks (and members of SA Rugby Legends) will tackle the Nedbank Sani2C, which takes place in mid-May 2013.
Rugby legends take on Sani2C powered by AIG

A three-day stage race, the 2013 edition of the Sani2C covers some 271 kilometres. The first stage of 87km starts in the foothills of the Drakensberg, leaving the picturesque town of Underberg and finishing near Ixopo. Competitors spend the night in a purpose-built camp, before taking on the second stage of 99km to Jolivet Farm in the Kwazulu-Natal midlands. The final, fast day drops down through sugar cane fields to conclude the race 80km later in the seaside town of Scottburgh.

Organised by 'Farmer Glen' (Haw), the presence of the 1300 competitors and their supporters, family and friends results in an enormous boost for the local economy of Kwazulu-Natal. The race also has a strong social responsibility component, with the organisers actively encouraging the participation of local people in providing services and facilities to the event.

AIG South Africa's MD, Wayne Abraham says the Rugby Legends, including players such as Stefan Terblanche, Gary Teichmann and Dick Muir, will be easily recognisable to all race participants. "The team will be wearing AIG-branded shirts; they will also tweet their progress and experiences during the race - and we will all be keen to see which Rugby Legends are fastest on a mountain bike!"
