CDII (Community Development Initiatives International) has teamed up with Jamaica Netball to coordinate a Tour to Jamaica during the June school holidays for young South African netball enthusiasts who wish to become qualified as Young Netball Umpires. This unique programme will provide young boys and girls (aged 15 to 20) to become recognised as umpires for netball games at school and junior club level.

CDII is working with South African netball representatives to implement a South African Young Netball Umpires Programme which will be based on the Jamaican Model. This will ensure a depth of skills in umpire officiating and will encourage youngsters who may not be selected to play netball to become umpires from a young age.
