Police nab one of Limpopo's top 10 most wanted

PRETORIA: Limpopo police have rearrested one of the province's most wanted suspects - Moses Mushe Nemudzivhadi. The 25-year-old, who had escaped from lawful custody in Vuwani this year, was arrested on Saturday in Musina where he was hiding following an operation led by the Crime Intelligence unit.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said this was yet another major breakthrough for police.

"[Nemudzivhadi] is awaiting trial on 14 cases of which the charges range from carjacking, armed robbery, rape, house breaking and theft, theft, possession of unlicensed firearm, escape from lawful custody, and assault. He is also linked to at least three other armed robberies in Thohoyandou.

"During his arrest police recovered three firearms. One of them was stolen from a police officer whilst the other was robbed from a female traffic officer who was raped in the process," said Brigadier Mulaudzi.

He was a leader of a six-member gang, four are behind bars whilst the other is still at large. Investigations are still on going, said Brigadier Mulaudzi.

Nemudzivhadi will appear before Vuwani Magistrate's Court on the count of escape from lawful custody.
