Insurance - proper training urgently needed
Major South African insurance companies need to urgently embark on in-house training schemes to boost skills development and meet transformation goals according to an article published in the Mail & Guardian.
It quotes Lion of Africa's Adam Samie as saying that training is a key platform to achieving meaningful transformation in the country. He says that while companies bemoan the standard of education in the country, they take little responsibility for training people themselves.
Samie says that about 15% of Lion of Africa's workforce comprises people who are being trained by the company.
