The centre which is run by a group of volunteers was established in 2008 and helps to deal with the socio-economic issues of the youth around the townships of Winterveldt, Mabopane and Soshanguve. Bokamoso Life Centre relies on donations and sponsorships to offer skills development to youth between the ages of 14 and 24.

SANParks donated non-perishable goods and sanitary pads to the centre and spent the morning with the youth. "SANParks is glad to devote 67 minutes of its time to the Bokamoso Life Centre. We could not think of a better way of spending this day than with the children. There is no doubt that Madiba championed, among other things, a better future for the young ones," said SANParks head of communications, Paul Daphne.

SANParks thanked the management for affording them the opportunity to spend precious time with the youth. "We would like to applaud Bokamoso Life Centre for the selfless work they are doing in assisting the youth in this community to realise their potential. After everything that Nelson Mandela did for this country and the world at large, it is up to individuals and organisation to make a difference in communities around them," concluded Daphne.
