Kumba Iron Ore announced on Monday (27 February 2012) the appointment of Frikkie Kotzee as the company's new chief financial officer, effective June 1 2012.
Kotzee is the current group financial director of African Oxygen, and he replaces Vincent Uren, following his resignation at the end of December.
He has also worked for Anglo American Platinum as head of business development, and at Anglo American as the general manager for Corporate Finance.
According to Kumba, Kotzee has developed in-depth commercial and strategic skills across a range of industries, including mining, oil, gas and financial services.
"We are delighted that Frikkie is joining Kumba. His extensive knowledge and experience make him an ideal fit. With a track record of working across a broad range of sectors, he is a welcome addition to the team and I am looking forward to working with him," Chris Griffith, Kumba CEO said.
Griffith said that the company's head of finance, Martin Poggiolini will continue in the role of acting CFO until June.
