The WEF is an international institution committed to improving the state of the world through public-private cooperation. The organisation engages political, business, academic and other leaders of society in collaborative efforts to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

According to the WEF, Global Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference. Through the Global Shapers Community, they are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other WEF communities, and to represent the voice of youth at WEF events.

"I'm excited to be recognised as a global change-maker with local impact. Hopefully this means an opportunity to learn from other incredible like-minded people," says Majola.

Network of hubs

The Global Shapers Community is a network of hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievement and their drive to make a contribution to their communities. The Global Shapers Community is one of several multi-stakeholder communities at the WEF. Other communities include the Young Global Leaders, the Global Agenda Councils, and the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs.

Together with other stakeholders, it works to define challenges, solutions and actions, always in the spirit of global citizenship. serves and builds sustained communities through an integrated concept of high-level meetings, research networks, task forces and digital collaboration.

This year, Majola was also listed on Mail & Guardian's annual list of top 200 young South Africans, which is described by the publication as the premier collection of the leaders of tomorrow. Majola was also selected as the participant represent the SADC region of the first course of China-Africa Young Legal Professionals Exchange Programme.
