New head of Financial Institution Ratings at GCR

Omega Collocott has been appointed as head of Financial Institution Ratings at Global Credit Ratings Co (GCR) with effect from 1 September 2014.

Collocott has over 15 years' experience in the financial services and banking space, including as head of Credit Research at CIS and Africa at Standard Bank (Moscow). Previously she held equity analyst positions at SCMB Securities and Deutsche Securities, and worked in KPMG's Financial Services Group. Collocott will be responsible for providing accurate, insightful and focused analysis on individual companies and banks, considering their strategy, organisation and operations, corporate governance, business/financial risks, and performance.

The role includes providing initial rating recommendations, as well as recommending changes to ratings and outlooks, to GCR's rating committees, whilst also interacting with senior level executives and managing relationships with clients, issuers, investors and other intermediaries. "Collocott comes with a wealth of experience within the financial services and banking sectors and will be a real asset to the company. We are all looking forward to the contribution she will make to the GCR team," said Marc Joffe, CEO at GCR.
