South African Barista champion
Lani Snyman recently qualified as a World Barista Championship Judge at a certification workshop held by the World Barista Championship in Tolentino, Italy, achieving a score of 93%. 15 out of the 24 candidates attending the workshop were certified as world championship judges.

To gain certification, the candidates were made to complete a series of tasks under highly pressured competition conditions, including testing technical and sensory capabilities as well as the ability to identify the different characteristics of various coffees by means of taste.
Snyman, Ciro Beverage Solutions' training research and development manager, originally founded the Coffee Academy and joined Ciro last year when they teamed up to form the Ciro Coffee Academy, creating one of the most comprehensive and accredited coffee training service providers in the industry.
Her mission to boost the barista profession in South Africa will be enhanced by her latest achievements ensuring that she imparts the highest standards of training and development to the industry bringing her educational expertise and creative enthusiasm for coffee to the table.
