Lord Mayor of London to visit Melomed Bellville
Melomed Hospital Holdings has announced a visit by a UK trade delegation led by the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Michael Bear to Melomed Bellville hospital on 6 September 2011, as part of his annual visit to the African continent. The purpose of this visit is to promote relations between local and international business entities.
Melomed Hospital Holdings recently upgraded its facilities to enhance the services offered by its private hospitals servicing patients in the Cape Town area. The continuous upgrading of the hospitals within the Melomed Group has brought about the introduction of specialised services which will now also be offered at Melomed Gatesville such as oncology, renal dialysis and nuclear medicine units. Melomed Gatesville's specialised intensive care unit now consists of 31 beds.
At Melomed Bellville the Group has just invested in a cardiac catheterisation laboratory which will aim to ensure that patients who have suffered heart attacks and those that require urgent intervention or surgery are fully catered for and need not be transferred to other facilities. The group has also launched value-added services for patients like the Melohearts support group in association with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of South Africa to ensure that patients receive the necessary post-operative support.
