Business as usual for KIA
Being the hub of Kenya Airways, JKIA has many passengers who use it as a transit point to their countries.
In a statement, Kenya Airways CEO Titus Naikuni reassured passengers that it is business as usual for the company and that it would not operate into an airport that was not safe for its passengers.
Glenn Lewington, Kenya Airways Marketing, Southern Africa, says the situation has been continuously monitored and the twice-daily flights from Johannesburg to Nairobi have not been affected, neither have the onward connecting flights into Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Loads in and outbound remain high and on some days, a larger wide-body aircraft is utilised on the route to meet passenger and cargo demands.
