DataPro wins service excellence award
Internet service provider DataPro, a subsidiary of alternative telecoms operator Vox Telecom, has received the Bridging the Digital Divide Award for 2007 at the inaugural Small Business Excellence Awards, presented by the SMME Forum.
DataPro has supported the communication needs of small and emerging businesses for several years. It has offered free email, faxing and web site hosting to SMME Forum members since its inception, as well as free Internet connectivity to the Forum itself.
Small Business Excellence, an initiative of SMME Forum President Tebogo Khaas, aims to identify, reward and accentuate excellence by emerging entrepreneurs. In addition to the awards, the initiative also hosts an annual conference.
“Vox Telecom's initiative has made a real difference to growing and emerging businesses,” says Khaas. “There is a lot of lip service paid to the concept of bridging the digital divide, but Vox Telecom has put its money where its mouth is. We're delighted to be able to reward their contribution.”
