The new 'Stickeez' craze is here with Checkers introducing its
Little Shop Mini Collectables of 29 recognisable grocery brands, such as a miniature toy All Gold tomato sauce, for example, complete with a collectables case and other merchandise like mini trolleys, baskets and storefronts. When you spend R150, you get one to add to your collection, and the first 25 learners to complete their collections could win R10k for themselves and R10k for their schools. The promotion aims to inspire South Africa's young entrepreneurs through its Little Shop All Stars competition. Go to social media
#CheckersLittleShop to see just how much shopping in mini is sticking.
Speaking of tomato sauce,
Famous Brands has bought a bankrupt tomato paste factory in the Coega precinct in PE for about R35m. The acquisition should help the company secure its supply chain by owning the manufacturers of its key ingredients, while
boosting farmers in the region and building the local industry, capitalising on the tomato paste shortage in South Africa, which imports about 35,000 tonnes annually.
This #MandelaMonth, Canal Walk Shopping Centre and LEAP Science and Maths Schools have collaborated to build a
canned food mosaic of the Mandela Day logo to raise funds for LEAP and promote awareness of its work in education development. Companies are encouraged to get involved in support of the cause.
Have a good week doing good!
