Easter egg on your face

It's almost time for the bunny to come out to play and leave his little chocolate gifts all over your abode for your little people to discover, devour and rush on for the remainder of their school holidays. And while I'm no longer dashing to the local (untapped) garage shop (with it's highly inflated prices) on "Easter Saturday", I still forget to wholly take into account the fickle "here today, gone tomorrow" nature of Easter eggs in the larger retail arena. Which is why, a week before E-day, I found myself standing in my local supermarket, surrounded by a shadow of the former colossus of chocolate bunnies and candy eggs, wondering where it had all gone. On the bright side, it's my own, adult version of an Easter egg hunt. As for retailers, it goes to show they're getting their stock supply more or less correct levels (although some parents may disagree), and shouldn't be left with a massive surplus of rabbit and chicken-shaped chocolates (as they have in years gone by). Unfortunately, I have no real solution for those left wandering the aisles, looking for the last uncracked egg on the shelf, other than shop early, or go part with your hard-earned cash at your local forecourt store.

Happy hunting, folks!
