York buys Iliad's timber business

York Timber Holdings is buying Iliad Africa's timber wholesale business for R45.5m.

The purchase is being made through Iliad's wholly-owned subsidiaries‚ Iliad Africa Trading and United Tube.

The Iliad Africa timber wholesale business comprises Germiston-based Thorpe Timber that is a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of timber as well as Cape Town-based Timber Preservation Services that operates a timber treating and wholesale distribution business.

"By buying these businesses York's products and services will be enhanced thus strengthening the company's market presence‚" York said.
