Watch: Impact of Covid-19 on the tourism sector
In March, the tourism sector came to a sudden halt when President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that South Africa would go on a nationwide lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The lockdown saw international travel banned and the gates of every hotel and game reserve temporarily closed, leading to the tourism industry to shed thousands of jobs and billions of Rands in profit.
With the lockdown restrictions being eased to allow international visitors and open recreational areas, Carte Blanche finds out if the tourism sector can survive the continuing effects of the coronavirus pandemic....

Watch: Radisson Hotel Group implements global plastic reduction plan
The Radisson Hotel Group has announced that it is implementing a plan to reduce single-use plastics on a global scale. The group also announced plans to introduce bulk amenities in all hotels across its portfolio by 2022. The video below further describes the group's new initiative.

Wesgro, trail-runner show off Western Cape as trail-running mecca
Wesgro has partnered with trail-runners Ryan Sandes, Meg Mackenzie, Stu McConnachie and Nic Rupanga to showcase Cape Town and the greater Western Cape as a mecca of trail running. The Connected by Trail video series is made up of four 60-second videos and an 8-minute documentary. It was shot in the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve and the Elgin Valley.

Entertainment galore at Boma Dinner & Drum Show
The Boma Dinner & Drum Show in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, recently underwent a revamp which included an update on its menu and entertainment. Boma Dinner & Drum Show manager, Moses Mafuka elaborates on some of the new entertainment offerings at the restaurant.
Amongst numerous new additions, Boma has introduced a new drum painting corner at which guests may design and paint their own drum, map, bowl or other memorabilia as a souvenir. A photo booth has also been installed on arrival at The Boma, allowing guests to capture that moment....

The Boma Dinner and Drum Show in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe recently underwent some changes that saw an update on its food and entertainment offerings.
The Boma’s manager, Moses Mafuka, goes through some of the new additions and improvements at The Boma which include a new logo, new staff uniforms, décor and furniture, a new head chef and menu, as well as entertainment.

New Boma chef dishes on his favourite picks on the menu
The Boma Dinner & Drum Show in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe recently updated its cuisine and entertainment offerings. The new Boma menu had been supervised by South African chef, Arnold Tanzer and is a celebration of Afro-fusion which features Zimbabwean delicacies like mopane worms, warthog steak, and Zambezi bream.
The new head of the Boma kitchen, chef Brighton Nekatambe elaborates on some of the new dishes on the menu and shares some of his personal favourites which include sushi with an Afro-fusion twist (local spinach)....

Contiki Storytellers: Jamie McDell talks plastic in the ocean
Contiki sent a bunch of social media influencers from around the world to Australia on a mission to clean up beaches and share insight about plastic, BPA, pollution, and their experiences in general. Each influencer covered pertinent issues relating to responsible travel and the importance of it on the environment.
