His father was in the Army, so the family moved around and eventually settled in Killeen, TX where he graduated from Ellison High School in 1981. Jeff attended San Jacinto College and the University of Houston while working for a contractor in South Houston. In 1985, he married Nancy Dibert originally from Latrobe, Pennsylvania. She was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and remained in the Killeen area working for the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce and then appointed as City Secretary for the City of Killeen. Jeff was working for a local a contractor and they settled in Tomball, Texas before they had their first son, also Jeffrey, in 1990. Jeff started his first business as a commercial playground manufacturer (Quality Wood Products of Texas) in 1992 designing and installing multi-level customized play structures for children of all ages. Some of his earlier playground equipment designs are at Cypresswood Park in Harris County, Houston ISD's Mark Twain Elementary School in Houston, Springwoods United Methodist Church, Victory Christian Center, Building Rainbows Day Care Center, Linder Learning Land, Metropolitan Baptist Church and the list goes on. His business has expanded to other towns in southwest Texas such as Killeen, Anderson, Austin, Bellville, Brenham, and Fredericksburg. In the early years, he also constructed residential play units with swings, tubes and tunnels, picnic tables, etc. But the commercial demand won out in the surrounding Houston area and expanded projects to Louisiana.
