The current Pick n Pay supermarket will be revamped to the Pick n Pay Group’s latest national specification. In addition to the revamped Pick n Pay store, a large new full-line Woolworths store will be built, which will consist of a Woolworths Food supermarket combined with a Woolworths CafĂ© totalling approximately 1,500m2, as well as a Woolworths Clothing section of approximately 3,000m2.

Construction of a new flagship, free-standing Virgin Active Health Club of 3,700m2 is already underway, with completion set for March 2018. The restaurant and entertainment component of the Northridge Mall redevelopment is planned to open for trade by 1 April 2018.

The renovation and construction will take the Northridge Mall’s gross lettable area to approximately 30,000m2 and during the same project an additional 600 new parking bays will also be added.

Phase two

Once the initial redevelopment,is successfully completed, the planning of a proposed phase two extension of the mall will commence. This phase is expected to include a further expansion of Northridge Mall, taking the mall’s total size to approximately 65,000m2 and thereby establishing a new regional mall in the north of Bloemfontein.

Northridge Mall is located along the R700 (Kenneth Kaunda Rd), which connects the northern suburbs and the city to the N1 freeway.
