Investing in agri - International investor summit to discuss bankable projects

Investing in agri - International investor summit to discuss bankable projects

The African Agri Council in partnership with Wesgro and the Western Cape Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce the African Agri Investment Indaba (AAII), taking place from 28-30 November 2016 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, South Africa.

The African Agri Investment Indaba (AAII) is the world’s meeting place for investment in Africa’s agricultural and agro-processing sectors. The AAII provides the most complete forum for more than 500 investors, bankers, governments project owners and advisers to connect and identify real opportunities and meet over 1,000 senior agribusiness representatives.

The agri asset class is fast-growing and has become increasingly important to the global investment community. Investing in Africa’s agri sector not only offers above average returns, but can transform societies, address food security and reduce poverty.

    Why the optimism about Africa?

Despite crashing commodity prices, a Chinese slowdown and a string of policy failures that are forcing investors to reassess the risk of investing in Africa after years of optimism about its growth prospects, the African food and agribusinesses industry presents an untapped market.

“We have everything which money cannot buy and lack everything money can buy,” Dr Theo de Jager stated at the African Sustainable Agriculture Summit in April 2016 in Johannesburg.

In order to boost investors’ confidence in African agriculture and identify attractive opportunities we first need to analyse trends that will likely influence food and agribusiness economics over the next decade in Africa.

The African Agri Investment Indaba will deliver a unique mix of decision-makers from across the African agri value chain making it the most effective place to matchmake agri projects with investors in Africa.

What you can expect at the African Agri Investment Indaba 2016:

    • The biggest international forum for the investment community in Africa’s agri space
    • 1,000+ senior representatives from Africa’s agri sector
