Friday’s fire at the Mpumalanga-based power station started at the Unit 3 fabric filter plant.
“[The fire started] between 5:30pm and 6:30pm,” said Eskom, adding that the fire was extinguished immediately.
The power utility said no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, adding that the incident is under investigation.
In December last year, fire was detected in an area around the two conveyer belts that supply coal to the Kendal power station, which is also located in Mpumalanga.
