The minister said on Thursday, 8 October, that she had confidence that Zulu's appointment will bolster efforts in South Africa's quest to entrench an energy mix paradigm for radical economic transformation and harness energy access for all.
Zulu, who has vast experience as a civil servant, commenced his duties with effect from 1 October.
He was introduced to senior management of the department and the executives of state owned companies on Thursday.
Zulu has previously held the positions of Director General at the Department of Human Settlements and head of KwaZulu-Natal's Department of Social Development.
