The strategy is aimed at ensuring water security in South Africa and to optimise water resource management.
Consultations are taking place throughout the country. Last Thursday, stakeholders in Mpumalanga were engaged for their inputs and comments.
The stakeholders in attendance came from different sectors including municipalities, government departments, mining, agriculture, industries, service providers, NGOs and SANParks.
The public can access and view the National Groundwater Strategy document on www.dwa.gov.za/Groundwater/NGS2016.aspx and can also submit their inputs and comments via the email address: az.vog.swd@SGN.
