Assisting eBay's big-ticket

AuctionAssist, an eBay facilitator, believes that it has a model that will help eBay's growth in big-ticket items. In 2005, eBay paid $2.6 billion for Skype in the hope that it could encourage buyers and sellers to talk about big-ticket items, but this has not yet yielded the anticipated results.
Assisting eBay's big-ticket

AuctionAssist® provides a safe and reliable end-to-end outsourced ebaying service for individuals, businesses, retailers and manufacturers, specialising in big ticket items. Major brand electricals listed on eBay via the AuctionAssist service can be found on http://www.AuctionAssist.com. The service is expected to attract other high street retailers to use eBay as an ecommerce channel, thus contributing to eBay's growth.

eBay is looking for growth in big-ticket items such as LCD and plasma TVs, American-style fridge freezers, range cookers and laptops.

"Market conditions are 'ideal' for AuctionAssist to further eBay's and its own growth by making the it safer to buy and sell big-ticket items on eBay. Our business has been on an incredible growth curve that I expect AuctionAssist services to contribute to £100 million of turnover for eBay over the next 24 months in the UK alone. Our average eBay customers spend north of £500 on electricals with AuctionAssist. eBay buyers have the confidence to buy a £4,500 63" plasma TV on eBay from AuctionAssist," said Sieng van Tran, CEO of AuctionAssist.

The company is finalising plans to seek admission to AIM by way of an IPO or merger.

He added, "We are in final stages of talks with a number of parties including AIM listed Samedaybooks (SDK) about a merger. We believe that a listing on AIM will provide the ideal platform to support our growth."
