Striking workers cause damage? Don't look at us, says Cosatu
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) says that it will "strongly oppose" attempts to change the labour laws that will allow municipalities to sue for any damages caused by protesting workers, according to an article published by Fin24.
Cosatu, according to the Fin24 report, claims that unions cannot be held responsible for the illegal actions of their members or any other people in the vicinity of a march. It claims that most strikes are peaceful and disciplined.
