Cashbuild's revenue up 10%

Buildings and material group Cashbuild said total revenue for the company rose by 10% for the first quarter of its 2015 financial year with higher sales and the opening of new stores.

The company opened 18 new stores in the past year and these stores contributed 6% of the growth in revenue in the first quarter‚ while existing stores were responsible for 4% of the growth.

Total transactions at the tills rose by 7% and units sold were 5% higher than the previous comparable quarter.

Cashbuild said trading conditions throughout the quarter remained tough‚ with selling inflation up 4% year-on-year.

Gross profit percentage margins remained at similar levels to those reported for the previous full financial year‚ it said.
