Last call for BASA Education Programme applications

Registered arts organisations in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban are invited to apply for the 2015/16 Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) Education Programme, supported by RMB, which closes for applications for the Johannesburg and Cape Town programmes on 1 September and for the Durban programme on 29 September 2015.

Launched in 2014, the programme is a mix of workshops and mentorship and aims at helping ensure the sustainability of registered arts organisations. The second, year-long programme starts in September in Johannesburg and Cape Town and in October 2015 in Durban.

Arts organisations with training components, as well as those addressing disability within the arts, are encouraged to apply. BASA will assess the current position and challenges of organisations falling under the BASA Dynamic and BASA Established levels to establish which organisations will benefit most from the intensive programme.

Programme

Arts organisations accepted will be part of a 12-month programme that includes:

  • Asset based community development concepts and theory
  • An overall strategic planning session
  • Marketing strategy and tactics - including the development of a marketing plan, communications plan and fund raising strategies for developing business partnerships
  • Operations and HR, Finance and Governance workshops
