CIMA CBA test centres to increase to 27 in eight provinces
Two years ago CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) decided to migrate its global Certificate in Business Accounting computer-based assessments to the Pearson VUE platform. The migration will be completed by the end of June, 2012, and exam centres will be included in places such as Nelspruit and Upington.
In this process, the CIMA CBA Exam Centre in Illovo will no longer offer CBA assessments after June 30, because Pearson VUE has a testing centre at Sandton City, less than 4km away.
Samantha Louis, CIMA Africa regional director said: "This is good news for our CBA students in South Africa because the number of centres will increase from nine in five provinces, to 27 in eight provinces. This is a distinct advantage for those CIMA students in smaller urban and outlying cities as exam centres will now be present in 19 different city areas. It truly will be even easier than before to study CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and find an exam centre in close proximity.
Additional exam centres
"This move is in line with our commitment to support the Department of Higher Education in its quest to make education more accessible, particularly for those in rural areas. The beauty of CIMA studies are that they can be completed by self-study, online at CIMAStudy.com or through a tuition provider. These additional exam centres now include cities such as Nelspruit and Upington, meaning that students in those areas will no longer need to travel to Joburg or Pretoria to complete their assessments."
