Earning potential increases with matric certificate

The New Year has begun and for many this is a time to re-evaluate one's economic status. You find yourself searching for ways to better your financial situation but you are feeling held back in the job market due to a lack of education. You are not alone; the country's overall pass rate in 2016 was 72.5% which means that 27.5% of school leavers did not obtain a matric. In addition to this, there were more than 100,000 learners that dropped out before the last hurdle.

A strong emphasis is placed around obtaining a Matric pass in the country and this is mainly due to the influential economic outcomes. According to Analytico, a company that provides earning analysis in South Africa, individuals without a Matric or less can expect to earn a monthly gross income of R2,660. The analysis was conducted with Statistics South Africa data, using the Analytico Earnings Analysis ModelITM with a sample size of 717,364 individuals with educational outcomes of Grade 8 to Bachelors level. The research showed that individuals with a Matric could enter the job market and reasonably expect to earn R4,977 and up. The research also showed that a matric with a tertiary education can increase salaries to R8,000 and up. This is an eye-opening factor that significantly indicates the economic importance that education holds.

If you are in a position where you did not obtain your matric or, due to certain circumstances you were unable to complete high school, do not despair. Did you know that you could complete your matric via distance learning? This way you can still earn an income without having to go back to school full time.

Damelin Correspondence College (DCC), an established distance learning College in South Africa offers the Senior Certificate Revised, which is available for past matriculants of any age from any year who wish to obtain their Matric Certificate. For 2016 matriculants who have either failed or wish to improve their results in particular subjects, the National Senior Certificate rewrite is available and can be tailored to suit your lifestyle. DCC offers user friendly study material, access to qualified tutors who provide quick feedback and personal attention when you need it.

DCC is provisionally accredited by Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training. Students have access to free educational counselling services and academic support with tips for learning, writing assignments and essential life skills.
